#hardware #interview # Had a brief talk on TC for ICT3 HW in Austin. I feel that I'm being lowballed and need your thoughts: Base 140k RSU 60k/4 years Sign on 30K YO , 5.5 years Current TC 🥜 Thanks! Edit: updated RSU to / 4 years
If you have MS + 5.5yoe, you can ask for more RSU. May be around $150k-$200 range.
I have bachelors only. The RSU is 60k/4 years .
Apple HW team is cheap don’t expect too much
That's what it looks like. Lots of swe have posted much higher salaries
In Austin levels.fyi doesn't suggest SW is paid much better in Apple. 40kyr of stock is the only difference I can see where SW benefits.
Reasonable for Austin
is Rsu 60k per year?
RSU is 60k/4 years
60k/4 is ict2 number. You should at least aim at 100k to 120k/4 years
You should make it clear and Loud that it is 60k/4yrs. It’s super lowball
I've updated, thanks for the attention. What's a reasonable RSU to to negotiate for ?
Might be lowballed due to low current TC
Didn't mention TC to recruiter. Where is the lowball at , what should I counter with. Thanks!
Please update the post to say 60k/4 years. RSU is super low ball. Shoot for atleast 150k base. Atleast 50k/yr RSU Sign on bonus is decent considering market but if this was a good market you could have stretched the sign on bonus to atleast 50k Where do you work right now?
Thanks for the advice. Will try and counter with recruiter. She didn't seem flexible at all. I currently work for a power electronics company in the mid-west, a nothing company really.
It’ll be difficult to counter without another offer from a tech company. If this offer is a significant bump from your current pay then it makes sense to accept it. I would still negotiate before I accept though
Since you have bachelors only base can go upto 160k, RSU 105k/4yr. SignOn is good, maybe bump up by another 5-10k.
How could I negotiate from 60K/4yrs to 105K/4yrs? any tips is appreciated.
Apple recruiters are notorious for low balling. Counter offer is generally the way to work around this; do you have any other offers lined up? Be ready to walk away unless they bump up the RSU.
Lowball
sounds like it. What would you consider a reasonable offer? Thanks!
