How does Apple decide comp? Do they level you and keep you in the band? Especially now that in CA they can’t ask for my current compensation. Currently I make more than a typical ICT4, but I think I’ll be leveled at ICT4. What might happen? Update : got numbers — ICT4 : 175k base, 225k stock, 40k sign on. It beats my current comp. but can I do better?

They pay third parties for data to generate a competitive offer. They compute a good offer based on offers going to similarly experienced and reviewed candidates from major tech companies. Then they reduce that number by 40% and tell you should be excited about Apple and have 5 days to make a decision before they move to the next candidate.
It’s easy to get an extra 40% when it’s Monopoly money 😉
