Hi, I'm looking to explore opportunities at Google, but I'm wondering how their comp structure works and measures against Apple's. Role: Distributed System Backend: ICT5 Apple refresher example: Year1: 240K when joining (60K per year for 4 years) Year2: 160K (40K per year for 4 years) -> total 100K a year now with the overlap with year1 Year3: 180K (45K per year for 4 years) -> total 145K a year now with the overlap with year1 and 2 Year4: 200K (50K per year for 4 years) -> 205K a year now with all the overlaps Total TC after 4 years: 200K base + 205 Stocks + 35K cash bonus = 440K If going to google now, I have around ~800K of unvested stocks(around 200K a year for the next 4 years). Can Google L5 beat this, or do I needL6, or not beatable at all? This is Austin b the way, at least Apple offers significantly lower initial offers in Austin than in California. Google L6 is equivalent of ICT5 so don’t go to Google if they ask you to join as L5. And if you join as L6, they will easily exceed your 800k
I think refreshers will be in the same range, but base will be much higher. I have 200k base as an L5. But yeah op don't join unless it's an L6 offer
