Talked to a friend recently who is working at Apple and he couldn’t stop abusing the toxic culture at the company. Mainly complained about - 1. Micro managing about 3 days a week RTO - like org actually checking badging data to make sure folks are showing up. 2. Always overworked - almost everyone doing minimum 2/3 people job. No one is complaining much since it’s a bad job situation outside, but it’s mentally draining. 3. Not good benefits - benefits are sub par from FAANG standards. Not even a decent coffee in many buildings 😬. Very less parental leave and PTO compared to other big techs. Would be interesting to know what other Apple employees think on these points above. Is it this bad at Apple or is it team specific? TC: 340K
Hey atleast they didn't layoff
Lol obviously…when 1 person is doing 2-3 people job, they better not layoff😬
this is another proof of how entitled these tech bros is. If their shxt stucked they will blame office toilet
Haha and Apple office toilet is the worst.
I heard they only have two ply toilet paper in the offices. Disgraceful. Utterly unacceptable
At least we have a job, have you been living under a rock?
Lol so do I..but haven’t experienced such culture atleast at Nvidia
Lol… most of us put up with all that shit but paid 1/2 of apple salaries… No more Zirp means tech needs to actually result in profits.
Yeah this is on par for Apple. Their cafes are actually quite expensive for lunch. Like $15+ for some small fish dish. But they are one of the best paying for HWEs.
That’s not true. I’ve not seen $15 unless you add dessert or some drinks. For just a lunch dish, it runs $7-$13 avg. $7 being salad and avg $10-$13 on others.
Is this serious?!
OP should try Amazon.
Haha I heard similar stories for Amazon too.
Dude is paid and is supposed to show up 3 (!) days per week in the office. Yeah, that's unfair!
When showing up, working hard is “toxic”. welcome to life in other industries
On top of all this they don’t pay well compared to other companies in FAANG
Depends on your perspective. In the short term, yes the tc is lower than other tier 1 companies and startups. But, after 2 or so years, the gigantic refreshers start stacking up. Apple engineers who have stayed for more than 2 years with decent performance ratings are stacking those Benjamins like no tomorrow. Other companies can’t beat that.
