Apple is world’s most valuable company. Sad to say it hardly did any meaningful innovation. Apple is basically a assembler which integrates components from 3rd party vendors and assembles them, and ditch them later to go vertical. They did this and killed many smaller companies in past. Latest example is intel(processor), qualcomm( modem), samsung(display), Broadcom (wifi) and hundreds of smaller killed companies. When every innovative companies bites the dust in this economy. This clown company without any innovation and R&D spending is still a most valuable company. Even though they release iphone every year But they are never releasing a industry first new features. It’s always small vendors. Once they produce good product, apple will brush up them later in next iphone release whether it’s media standards or RF standards, they are not first. Apple has made a ecosystem like no one can get out of this and consumers has to pay huge prices for no innovations, just fancy devices and Still apple will charge for a dongle. Apple would take billions to keep google search bar on home screen. With fancy screens and with failed products Apple Maps, Siri, HomePod etc and list goes on, still most valuable company without any vision. Their only vision is to kill small vendors and go vertical, this is stealing. It’s time to ditch your iPhones and buy other high end phones. What’s your opinion?
Hardware innovation takes time, what other companies is making more innovative hardware?
I don't care option is missing
Lol amd and i9s are beating apple processors now
This is written by a non tech wannabe. Doesn’t know what real hardware innovation is and the years it takes to make it reliable to be used by billions.
OP, that's called running a solid business. There's a reason Apple is the most valuable company, and that's customers buy their shit. Period.
While I agree Apple is not the most innovative company out there but there focus on details and quality standards is unmatchable. MacBooks are better laptops out there, I prefer iPhone over any android device any day, Apple Watch almost has a cult following and on services while there is nothing net new but still they are growing while focusing on data privacy and user experience. Also since when Intel, Qualcomm etc become small companies?
AirPods? AirTags? M1 chips?
Apple is rarely first. But they tend to do it the best or at least better than everyone else. That’s what makes them valuable.
How are they a monopoly? They're just a well run business and stake their value on their brand, not just innovation (though they go hand in hand as evidenced by this post). Hardware innovations take years. M1 is arguably revolutionary. Their infamous notch is arguably revolutionary as well judging by the trend in smartphones afterwards. Apple is more than just the iPhone. It's an entire ecosystem and they have been constantly adding things to it.
