Apple onsite interview
@Apple My onsite interview got postponed one day before schedule. Recruiter emailed me saying that job opening is on hold and now my interview is cancelled because they don't know if they will open that req again . What should I do now ? Wait for them to see if they open the req again. I have been preparing for interview so hard for two weeks now. Even brought pair of new formal clothes for interview 😭
Huh, Apple is having a hiring freeze? Was this the 5G modem group? If so, it’s because of the news of the settlement between Apple and Qualcomm. So it won’t be a surprise they may lay off the 5G team. Apple uses team specific recruiters. The current recruiter won’t help you find another job in a different group because there’s nothing in it for him/her. Apply for a different group yourself.
Not always true. I was referred to two other teams by the recruiters for a total of three interviews before I was hired. Same org though.
I think the recruiter is on business unit’s payroll. So he/she can refer you within the BU.
Which group is this again? Apple is not an a hiring freeze. They are hiring alright.
I don't know which group it is . The manager didn't tell me. I am aware apple is hiring a lot this year

They had cancelled my friends flight and interview on 1 day before interview. Its not new to them, your preparation wont be waste, just check with recruiter if they have openings in other groups.
If you have prepared then apply in Qualcomm. Qualcomm is hiring!

I've had nothing but bad experience interviewing with Apple. I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

Don’t sulk. You prepared then use it for other interviews.. there are tons of companies in Bay Area. Anyway for giving you calm - Apple is not a good place to work, you may learn some good tech , but it’s having v poor work culture. Personal exp. May be it varies from group to group.
If req is on hold means it is gone so don't wait on to it just move on

That sucks. Would you be interested in another team if so maybe you can ask the recruiter to help find a match in another org/team.
I will have to look for other jobs. That's only thing left now.
