  • If you care about purpose and a positive legacy, choose Apple. If you care about amassing material things at the cost of other human beings psychological well-being and eroding democracy, then by all means, choose Facebook.

    • What is your justification for that statement? Or are you just saying that out of spite?

    • My mom found her friends from school on fb. They grey up at a time without phones and lost contact after moving cities/getting married. Now they all meet up, do trips together etc. My dad's school had a 50 year reunion recently and how did they spread the word - FB. Small but a purpose I care about.
My parents don't use Apple products and in fact probably only the top 1% in my country do. Don't see any purpose of Apple, not even in terms of innovation anymore.

If you want to make awesome products that touch peoples heart join Apple. They are the ones who work for betterment of human kind by making technology simple and available to everyone.

If you want to peek into other's personal life join Facebook. They are just evil scumbags who have no ethical or moral values.

    It is Apple vs Facebook.
    It is good vs evil.
It is making good products for customers vs making customers as products.
It is respecting privacy vs destroying privacy.

Apple is a luxury brand, so by definition it has a higher resale value.

The Bay area has no shortage of opportunity but that's about all it's got. With a family at that TC, housing will be prohibitive and the commute long. All the money in the peninsula yields surprisingly shit restaurants and virtually zero arts and culture that punctuate an endless drab office park. In San Diego you'll have a better opportunity to find a home you'll enjoy, more reasonable commute and a fun culture but without those Valley bona fides or networking. It really depends on who you are and what you want. I'm trying to get out of the Bay Area because housing is impossible and I'm no type-a.

250k in SD will provide a really good quality of life. If you feel good about your career growth prospects within the team down there, go for it

  • 250 will likely go farther than Bay Area 325. Housing isn’t as bad here. And the quality of life, much better.

    I ❤️ San Diego

If you plan to settle down with your family, no place more beautiful than SD. I moved out of SD last year, plan to stay in the Bay for 2-3 years and move back once I have kids.

Thanks. I was curious if I can make bay area the same living as San Diego with 30% more. Then, I have more opportunities in bay area down the road.

Depends on quality of life. Most prices other than housing are likely roughly the same. Just look at your housing costs and after tax income. Should be straight forward.
