I applied for a research role in the hardware team at Apple in December. I finished a take home assessment, 6 virtual on-site interviews and an interview with the recruiter during the on-site by mid-January. After I applied, the process was very fast. And I got good feedback for the take home assessment and from several on-sites interviewers. But I don’t have a decision yet. In week 1 after the last virtual on-site, I followed up with the recruiter and they told me I should have an update the following week. But I didn’t get an update after that and no response to my follow ups in week 2. It’s week 3 after the on-site now. Is it a reject ? Am I a back up for a better candidate ? Is there still hope ? Can someone share some insights on what happens after an on-site ? Are such timelines common at Apple hardware? YOE : 5 UPDATE: Essentially a reject from this team. But they got back to me saying I would be a better fit for another team and have referred me to them. #interview #hardware #applehardware #apple
The process until the on-site interviews actually was quite smooth and I had very good communications from the recruiter. It has been painful after the on-site.
Took 1 month for me to get tge invitation to thr nect round (even though performance was fine).
Yes
I finally got an update in week 3. Essentially a reject from this team. But they got back to me saying I would be a better fit for another team and have referred me to them.
Sorry to hear OP. Hope, something works out for you. Is this after on-site interview with team right?
Yes, this feedback was after the on-site.
Apple’s hiring process has been the worst experience out of any big tech company I’ve interviewed with
Ditto.
