I have heard about apple refreshers being very good. Can someone pls help quantify them? How much would an ICT3 or ICT4 hardware engineer make as part of the refresher? Is it same for all groups and teams? Is it performance based? #apple #applebonus #refreshers #applehardware

Apple ICT3 HW refreshers are like 50k - 80k depending on performance and location
Is that a fixed number or based off base pay?
It's a fixed number. And Microsoft is right, but it can actually go down to essentially 0 if you blow it or up to 90k+ if you have a truly exceptional year (in Cupertino). Highly dependent on perf. Pretty consistent across HW teams.
ICT4 is like 70-80% of your base. But you can also get 0%
not true.
K, tell us then. I think we’ll learn from u
I know ICT4 folks who got less than 30k and ICT3 folks who got more than 100k. It depends on team and performance and location.
If you are a top performer, ICT3 can get 85K and more, ICT4 can get 120K and more.
Is 85K vesting over 4 years ? It means that you are getting 85/4 = 21.25/yr ? that's kind of low.
it's all relative... low compared to what? refreshers you see in SW? sure. Not true if you compare them with refreshers at semiconductor companies, for example, which in this case would be the more appropriate comparison.
Apple folks, quick question. Are these refreshers in addition the initial RSU you get when you get the offer? If so, can you please provide a example with numbers?
Yes. That is what a refresher mean! For example ICT4 gets 200k rsu at joining. Then 120-140k each year they have exceptional performance. Exceed expectations. All the grants are vested in full after 4 years with 0.125 vesting every 6 months.
Cool, thank you
For the past 3 years, my refresher has been ~40% of the base and the cash bonus is ~15% of the base. I never negotiated or demanded I want more. Been getting excellent reviews all these years. I wonder if I should demand more!
The first I can’t answer, but I know the rest.
