I am currently interviewing @apple. I was told i will have to relocate to Cupertino. I am currently remote and live in a low cost of living state. Trying to understand if its worth relocating if i receive an offer. How does the Apple relocation work? Do i have to relocate right away or do i get a specific amount of time to relocate? What TC can i expect for IC4? Blind tax- current tc @apple 350k with stock appreciation #apple #epmapple#epm #tech#programmanager#relocation#hcol
Not as cheap as South Dakota but cheaper than California. Can you provide more insights on the relocation policy? Will it be possible to negotiate remote work with Apple?
No remote work in apple
If someone from @apple can chime in here that will be great
Get ready for a major bump in housing rentals. With rto, area around apple, Google is getting expensive and most are overrated shitty old houses. Think twice
you will experience a drastic drop in QOL/real wages moving to Cupertino if you aren’t currently living in Hong Kong, London, or Singapore
Stay at Nvidia. Apple's culture is a bit back stabby, and lots of office politics. Nvidia, though I have no first hand experience like I do at Apple, has the highest rated Pulse score on Blind from any tech company I've seen.
The only nice, happy people i know there are junior ICs somewhat insulated from all that and able to focus on cool work
At Apple or Nvidia?
350k you’ll be alright. The bay is expensive. Coming from a native.
My tc 350k is at nvidia currently. Not at apple yet.
Not worth it unless you get 500k+ offer.
You’ll make < 350k as IC4 or ICT4 at Apple in Cupertino. Stay at nvidia look again once your cheap RSUs have vested.
I made the opposite move after Apple gradually started enforcing in office work (currently at Nvidia). You will not be able to work remotely ever at Apple. I don’t know about the specifics around the relocation policy, but you cannot negotiate remote work. If you think you can, you probably don’t understand just how strongly the company has moved already towards RTO.
How LCOL are you? If you’re in something like south dakota you might need at least a 100k bump to enjoy the same lifestyle in Bay area
