I think if you asked me this question a year or two ago i would have instantly said citadel due to money and the fact that trading companies are one pedigree "above" tech firms. But my mindset has changed a lot. Money doesn't really matter much to me. Just want to be surrounded by cool people and work on interesting problems. The trading space (especially citsec from blind posts) seem pretty brutal/cutthroat which isn't really what I'm looking for in an environment. Also as a native east coaster, california is amazing. I'm still not used to the beautiful weather and skies. I'm so ready to leave brutal winters behind me. There's also just such a chill vibe where people are so much more cool (could be the weed lmao). Also the amazing year round hiking and proximity to PNW! Idk man. I'm kinda sold on not going to citadel, but it still is a top trading firm. What do you guys think #apple #citadel
no poll or TC rofl
Where dfkuc s ya TC?
citadel is like ~120/hr with 10 racks sign on. apple is a little less than half.
You kind of answered your own question in your post, it seems like you are leaning towards apple. Is Apple a fulltime return offer vs Citadel intern? If so I'd just take Apple. A real fulltime job right now is worth a lot more than a potential intern RO at Citadel.
Yeah both are internships but I don't wanna renege on apple. Just wanted to make sure i'm making the right choice
To clarify did you get a CitSec offer or a Citadel offer? Tbh I would be slightly more inclined to take a CitSec offer if you want my honest opinion (or try moving it off season to experience it if possible), but like I said its your career and it seems like you're pretty set on Apple. I think you are in a great spot and there isn't really a wrong decision (at least, in terms of the criteria you want to satisfy). Citadel interviews pretty liberaly if you have a reasonably good background like yourself. Apple, not so much. I've been pestered by Citadel (and have declined their offer before for a paycut) but have never gotten an Apple interview.
Don’t be stupid. take Citadel.
:(
If I were in your shoes and with the mindset you've described I would take apple
<3
Op: The above post is sarcastic.
Do you want to trade a half million (or more) offer with a phone company?
Don't really care about money too much tbh
citadel sucks.
Apple.
You find Apple environment political or no?
My team was actually really chill. Remember connecting super well with my interviewer about pirating software lmao (that we talked about *during* the interview). Work can be stressful but it's a team where people are there for you and want to see you grow.
