I’m really conflicted... what’s better: Apple Maps or Google maps? Vote on which one you use. Should we value privacy win over function? https://www.inc.com/jason-aten/this-is-1-new-apple-maps-feature-that-will-make-you-quit-using-google-maps.html
Not sure who’s voting for Apple Maps. Folks who work at Apple?
I work at Apple and I don’t use that pile of poop called Apple Maps. I prefer Waze despite it being owned by a certified creeper of a company
I like Google Maps much more, but I’m using Apple Maps because Google already knows too much about me. Call me paranoid if you will.
Mapquest
Google Maps suffers from feature creep and is often unusable due to slowness.
Waze
If I’m searching for something, then Google. If I’m navigating, Apple. It’s just better integrated and Google no longer provides considerably better routes. Apple has caught up. But I use both maps. Apple by far has better UI and better looking maps. However if I’m traveling outside the US, google maps exclusively. And privacy isn’t even a question. Apple wins. But it’s also a key reason why search isn’t as good compared with Google.

This is exactly my dilemma. I don’t want to give up all my privacy yet here I am using Google maps due to convenience...
My big issue with Apple Maps... I set destination, hit go. At some point I switch app to do something else. Some time later I come back to Apple Maps to know which turn to take And most of the time the orientation of the maps is usually 180 degrees, the opposite way. Probably because that’s the way I was facing at the point I closed it? And then it does this nice slow rotation animation to orient the correct way. All meanwhile I’m like “come on come on come on, is this my turn?!” I use google maps now - but I like Apple Maps integration with iOS unfortunately
I may be in the minority, but I prefer Apple’s interface over Google’s. But on long trips, I mostly use Waze for objects in the road and cops.
Google. By a comfortable margin.
