Employee Assistance Program could be lot better than what it is. When you are feeling low, it would be nice if the team tries to call you back, schedule a session & potentially follow up. Instead, the experience I have had with EAP is that they just send you a bunch of phone numbers over email and we have to call them & schedule appointments. Sometimes the appointments can take weeks if not months afterwards. What are we supposed to do till then ? Hold our tears & act in the office as if nothing is happening? I understand that this is a common thing if you have to visit doctor. But when your entire system is down because of emotional issues, it would be better if someone else helps you out through the process until you see a counselor or psychiatrist.
Employer is not your Mom.
I agree. It’s almost like it’s there as a sort of “we’re doing something. “ one can rather look up help online and find the best therapists who are more available. Hang in there pal. DM if you need someone to discuss things.
EAP is a pain and only covers a few sessions. Why don’t you go and look for someone who is accepting new patients now and just pay for it first? A lot of them are doing it remote now. All the best, hang in there!
Hang in there bro. Hang in there
