Can anyone comment on internal training, knowledge sharing, publication, do they even exist? All kinds of access control & internal monitoring surveillance? Career growth opportunities? (some of my friends went there in Cupertino 4-5 yrs ago they were still same, one got demoted) Gym cost membership, no free food, but free drinks & fruits? Good pay look good on resume, but very long hours, high pressure, bad WLB, blaming culture. Bad commute for me. Do they have a recognition program that at least make employees feel good? Sabbatical? Paid time off? What top benefits that attract talents beyond money & their brand? TC: 250K, 8 YoE
Competitive pay, good refreshers, good brand, good WLB (varies by team), awesome HQ, and the ability to work on cool products that millions pay for. DM me for more info
It’s good to hear Apple has good WLB. Not every team though gets to work in the Apple Park I guess. I just don’t think some people could fit in the secretive work culture which stifles learning cuz you can’t easily browse and learn from other people/team’s code and docs. So I don’t know how people grow long term there. Plus the constant surveillance monitoring...worry being accused stealing...not sure whether you can bring your own code or what you can bring when you leave...Just doesn’t seem to be a very healthy environment to be honest.
Sounds like you have a bone to pick. Having been at both Apple and FB, I don't think I've learned less at Apple because of their secretive culture. I was able to request disclosures on anything I needed to do my job. I learned a ton from my colleagues. I have no idea what you're talking about with constant surveillance monitoring. I've never worried about Apple accusing me of stealing. Doesn't seem like you have your facts straight to be honest.
ya but you get to build the best products in the world lol
That’s true maybe the pride that comes with it, and that’s good. But Intel has its best products (Xeon, I-series CPUs) in the world. Google(search, YouTube, gmail, ads, & many others), Facebook(social network, ads), Amazon(AWS, amazon commerce), Microsoft (windows, office suite tools) and many other companies all have their best products in the world in their respective field...
yeah but apple products aren’t boring. office suite tools? wtf
