Applying for SSN on F1 visa
Wife on F1 visa got CPT summer internship and company is asking for SSN for background check. Can she apply for SSN even if the internship start date is 5 months away? Or is there a 30-day time limit before which she can apply in the SSA office?

I got mine by showing the offer letter. Although not sure about a particular time window. Good luck!

An offer letter is all that's required for ssn, my friends joined dining services got the letter, the ssn and then resigned immediately.
as long as she has a proof of employment, I’d suggest just drive to a nearby SSA with all the relevant documents and try applying
