Netflix has always been on my radar for to companies to work for. When in school, I was disappointed to learn that they do not consider new grads. I am currently two years removed from school. Would Netflix consider me for a SWE role right now, and if not how long should I wait?
I guess it depends on the field of expertise you gained during your working experience. If you worked in protocols or cloud then you have a chance to get a call from netflix with 2yrs of experience
I have an on-site with less than four. I don't think a couple of years out will be as convincing though.
Just curious - do you work in java environment?
No, Python and JavaScript mostly
[Blind] Check out this post! People who joined Netflix with less than 4-5 years of experience - How are you doing? (Engineering) https://us.teamblind.com/s/Nmy16sfj
Depends entirely if your 2 years are highly relevant. If you’ve been doing great work on big data analytics, the big data team might be interested in you even with just 2 years experience. But you better be willing to hustle and work your butt to learn and ramp up and contribute. If you have 2 years of full stack generalist work, it’s unlikely Netflix will be looking seriously at you. Plenty of generalists with more experience to poach from.
Doubt it. They only hire senior engineers with 10+ years of experience typically.
😢
Not true. I’ve seen people with 4+ years join Netflix. Obviously it depends on how well you do in the interview.
