Coming into snap as a ‘top end’ L4 (as said by HM and recruiter, 4yoe). People say it’s hard to promo to L5 but Snap recently reworked bands to make L5 consistent with FANG senior instead of high senior - low principal. Is it realistic to get promoted within a year or 1.5 years if I preform well? #snap Snap employees only please, not interested in hearing opinions based on old sentiments from blind.
You won't make it in less than 3 years unless you're a rockstar leading cross organizational work. Also, there is no announcement on making L5 consistent with other companies. What's your base salary?
The HM from the team I chose said that, but an HM for a team I didn’t choose said L4 is higher. I trust my HM because it wouldn’t make sense to say otherwise. And 175 base w/ TC of 399 (including yearly bonus), but 15k is quick vest stock bonus
I don't think 175 is top of L4. It's more like mid L4 so you got a long way to go before L5.
I read this from internet “It is heaven before signing the offer, it will be hell after signing the offer.” Don’t trust HM’s any potential promises. There could be a lot of high performance L4 in your future team waiting for promotion. Negotiate hard before accepting the offer. Have a mindset without any promotion and big salary increase in next few years.
