Would you consider Snapchat and Twitter to be competitors to LinkedIn? TC: 230
If it is a competition - consider Instagram and LinkedIn to be the winners in my book
Tile question - yes. Consider the affect Tiktok has had on Reddit, Youtube, Instagram; theyâve shown short video is king. Hence why⊠- Reddit acquired Dubsmash - YouTube started YT shorts - Instagram reels And itâs working out really well (at least for YT).
What about LinkedIn?
Iâm sure their recent additions of stories is their attempt at more engagement like Snapchat/Instagram, but I donât see a ton of parallels with other social medias besides the fact that theyâre both very much ads-driven.
LinkedIn makes money from recruiters.
I'd consider anything that gives users that hit of dopamine (?) due to likes and online validation as competitors.
This is an interesting perspective actually, I take back my previous comment about where the money comes from. $KOâs north star metric used to be âshare of throat.â Share of dopamine could be a highly prestigious metric.
Yes. Social media competes for a users attention. More attention = more ad revenue
LinkedIn has a monopoly on cringe
