Hi, I wanted to know if companies are still applying for i140 on joining? My H1 visa is expiring by the end of this year and I have been impacted by layoffs. If yes then please mention the company name. Looking for senior/staff SWE roles. I have worked in FAANG. #layoffs #faang #hiring
You should’ve had an approved i140 by now if you’re on your second term.
Correct but due to some personal issues I was unable to file it and really regret it not doing early no matter what. Need help in knowing if anyone is still sponsoring. (Aware about the fact that it might even get rejected rn since there are more than required citizens in the market but I still want to take that chance) Or any other suggestions at the moment might help too.
There should be companies that do it. You should get that process started after you accept the offer. My current employer did it for one candidate because he was good & the role was a huge dependency.
Try consulting firms
They do pretty fast than a tech giants
Any suggestions with names? Feel free to DM
Atlesst if you can have your perm approved, you can extend your stay by an year, not approved but filed.
Where do I follow this?
I see. Thanks but that leaves me without a visa in but have perm filed. I would not be able to work until it gets approved right
Can you extend the H1B after expiration?
That needs i140 approved
Do you have approved i140 right now?
No
Good luck. Hoping you find something soon. With current processing times, I feel you need atleast 18mons to complete the process.
