I appeared for the Analytics Engineer Role at Snowflake. The initial round was good, the second round had a SQL ambiguous question. I think I did okay but today I received a rejection email. Although I was not able to come up with an exact answer within an hour, I was able to provide logic with few hints. I struggled initially but in the end I was able to come up with logic. Not sure what happened. #tech #snowflake #interview #dataanalytics #sql #google #amazon #faang #meta #nvidia #dataanalyst
Please post the questions here, someone might come up with answers. Will be a learning experience for all. And fk NDA
Fk NDA! Does the interviewer only look for the correct solution? I am pretty good at SQL. The was ambiguous that was the trick.
Hmm may be you should have started talking about LeaderSHit principles
Yeah! I knew many more things than the interviewer for sure. I have seen guys struggling with even basics for SQLs.
Sql sucks
Everyone is going through hundreds of applicants. You practically have to be perfect.
Low demand and High Supply? The person who was interviewing me seemed to be less qualified than me 😂. She couldn't understand half of the things I explained or I doubt She might have even heard of. Given the exposure and different tech stack I have worked on I am damn I bring a lot to the table. All the people working in the Pune Snowflake office are from Tier2/3 Service companies. I guess they got in when Snowflake was hiring like crazy and the market was at its peak.
The fact that you couldn't explain things in an understandable way might have been the issue? People could also be pre-IPO. Never claimed current employees are perfect lol
Lots of applicants few positions, the bar is very high right now.
Hmm could be. Is there any cool off period at Snowflake?
Can you please tell what did they ask you in second round?

There are 5 SQL questions. How far did you go?
I attempted 4/5 of them. Then there was the second round where I struggled but at the end I was able to come up with logic with few hints.
