Screw it. Don't care anymore. Let Israel take it. One state solution.
Title says it all. #WFH
I hear you can work from anywhere for 45 days / year
at square?
Starting in January we’re allowed to do 45 days abroad a year. Not many details about it yet, or a list of allowed countries.
Of course there are tax barriers. There are company policies too that define these durations I’m sure but the hard upper barrier is that if you’re not a tax resident in the US (the days you count on your tax forms, remember?) you’re making money as a US worker while not paying taxes here. And no, you can’t just say I’ll pay taxes here but still work from India. Don’t ask this here, there’s too much at play that only your company or a tax lawyer can answer. Technically you can’t even work from another state in the US cuz of tax consideration. Otherwise everyone would move to FL, TX or WA. Wel probably not WA but you get the point.
45 days, once every 12 months. But you can't divide the days up across multiple trips.
Thanks for the data point…. Do they allow someone to work totally from India (adjusted pay and expecting us working hours)?
You mean permanently? I don't think so. I think only in countries where Square has a corporate presence (so U.S., Canada, UK, EU, Australia, and Japan)
Because Square doesnt have an office in India, you cant work in india? Or, is it possible to move with an Indian salary?
I hope not
Why?
It seems unfair to the team to have to accommodate a manager in a timezone on the other side of the planet.
