Was looking on levels.fyi for Hudson River Trading and saw a bunch of salary submissions of over 1M TC for SWEs with around 3 years of experience. There's even one with 1.75M with 2 YOE. Almost all of these were submitted recently. https://www.levels.fyi/company/Hudson-River-Trading/salaries/Software-Engineer/ I know TC in trading can be a lot higher than tech especially for top performers, but this seems absurd. Can anyone from HRT or another similar company comment on if this is legit?
Normally those people are hardcore HFT algorithm implementation and heavy on the math side. Definitely possible considering the amount of money they can make the company if they're good at it
This. You’re talking about the cream of the mathematics crop from MIT and Princeton getting recruited, not someone who did 100-200 problems on Leetcode and got in.
I only did 99 leetcode problems and went to caltech :(
These aren't your usual average joe software engineers - they're high performers drowning in suits and heroin
If they’re a quant trader and are compensated with a piece of their profits, yes that’s easily possible.
These salaries are for software engineers
Software engineers also write trading algorithms if it’s a trading firm
