Hi, I received offers from Microsoft and Arista Networks and would like some inputs deciding between the two. I have attached a poll, would be really helpful if you could comment the reason for choosing one over the other. Microsoft Offer (Non-Azure): Base: 22 LPA Bonus: 3 LPA JB + 3.86 LPA Annual Bonus (0-20% of base): 2.2 LPA avg Stocks: 50k USD (25% every year) Location: Hyderabad, India TC: 40-42 first year, 33-35 second year Arista Offer (EOS): Base: 25 LPA Bonus: 3 LPA JB + 3 LPA anniversary bonus Stocks: 30k USD (25% every year) TC: 36 first year, 30 second year + yearly bonus Location: Bangalore, India Arista Pros: 1. Have heard good things about the software engineering culture 2. Possibly more learnings and work satisfaction as the company is still small. 3. People across all interviews were really nice, and HM seemed super nice. Arista Cons: 1. Haven't heard great things about the pay increments at Arista, although everything seems performance driven. 2. Concerned whether it will pigeonhole me to networking roles. I do like networking, but I am still trying to find my direction, and switching down the line may become difficult. Microsoft Pros: 1. Higher fixed TC, although Arista HM told yearly bonus is performance-driven and is not a proportion of base. Hence, it could be substantial from the second year depending on performance. 2. Heard good things about the HM, though have a discussion scheduled with him regarding team and work. 3. May open doors to other companies if and when I want to switch. Microsoft Cons: 1. Learnings may be limited, though I may be able to assess this only after the discussion with HM happens. YOE: 1.11 Current TC: 20 LPA Both offers are final offers. #engineering #software #swe
No brainer, go for Microsoft.
Which team in QC? ..I would say go for Arista. Refreshers suck at MS
In one of the modem SW teams. Do you have any info on the stock refreshers at Arista?
Yes..they try to keep up with the initial grant
Voted for Microsoft. If you want easy WLB and no raises, want to work on proprietary programming language/tools, don't care remaining "software engineer" in title, then go for Arista.
I am giving interview with Arista in couple of days this is my concern. Don’t want to learn anything that is too much proprietary. How is juniper? For the Juno’s team and srx? I may join soon
I was in a similar position. Going for arista because of more learning opportunities. Will look to switch to big tech in a few years
You can DM me
Of course!
Arista interview experience please? What did they ask, how many rounds? DSA is enough? OS is must? System Design is a must??

L4 Google -> 45 interviews, 5 offers, AMA
Microsoft offer seems to be good. But why are they offering L60 for almost 2 YOE.
I did push for L61 role, but they told it has been decided based on the interview performance in design rounds.
To be fair, I haven't done a lot of pure application development at my current role.
