The more articles like that exist, the people will see a reason to get into the tech industry. People see those articles and instead of majoring in CS, they look into that instead. This is good news. We need to do anything to desaturate this industry and keep people away. Whatever it takes. When people ask me for career advice, I’m gonna tell them to become a UPS driver. No more “learn to code” BS. We need more pilots, gate agents, fast food workers, teachers, plumbers, truck drivers etc. We don’t need more tech workers. The more it’s advertised how “underpaid” this industry is consulted to trades, the better.
When I moved to my current house, all my new furniture, home theater, and home gym equipment shipped through UPS. There was probably about 1500lbs of equipment that shipped in one day with a few 100+ lb packages. Move this day in and day out and that $170k is really just a fraction of what you will need for medical bills when you hit 40. I am very strong with excellent stamina and I have mad respect for what UPS drivers do. I suspect they put their body through more than most special forces do because they do it day in and out for years without a break. Most people would crash and burn even if they tried.
What’s with the gate keeping? There are so many different high TC jobs for everybody. Wait until you find out how much good plumbers and trades workers make.
Im already paying a lot for a daycare that gets my kids to move boxes

It’s not that the industry is just saturated, it’s that there’s no more room to grow. Facebook and Google have BILLIONS of users? Why do you think so much of our comp was stock? We get paid when the company GROWS, when it can’t we get laid off and paid less and hiring stops. And it’s never gonna end
More like these monopolies have so much money that they can crush any competition. If the monopolies were broken, a lot more companies could pop up.
