As a canadian, US based startup or FAANG?
I've heard that US based start ups are paying big bucks for ppl working remote in Canada, in some cases more than FAANG. Can anyone confirm or deny?
Only if you believe in the equity
FAANG.. first get that.. after that.. do whatever you want to. But you canβt go wrong having few years of work exp at FAANG

If the startup has been able to raise money in this market it means some rich people believe in the founders. That means they will put (even) more money in better times. Seems to be a good bet to me.
Alternatively, it means that the founders accepted crazy liquidation preferences
True. OP should make sure what exactly happened that they are hiring now
Small companies sometimes can pay more, but you have a higher risk of the company just poofing out of existence
Get offers from both and then think about it. No point seeking opinions like this because thereβs a huge range in FAANG pay and every startup is different. Just try to get the best offers from each and then see what suits you more.
I can confirm that. The base is equal or more than fang offers in my job search in Jan this year. The stocks can virtually match as well but then cannot count them till IPO.
