If you’re a hiring manager, do you think it’s annoying when people reach out to you about jobs? Seems like the norm, but I can see it getting annoying and sounds like someone begging to you.
If you are of the opinion that someone reaching out to you is begging, God bless your thought process 🙏
I don't mind at all. I don't always respond, depends on what is said but it's tough out there and I don't fault anyone for trying to get an edge. I do it in my own searches sometimes.
Annoying. Just apply on the website like everyone else
I don’t care if they think it’s begging. They’ll just ignore me and move on. On the other hand there’s only upside for me - either I get to interview when I otherwise wouldn’t have, nothing changes, or I dodge a bullet because the HM is arrogant and doesn’t like me for basically no real reason. I feel like I’m pretty selfish in the job search process. Idc how much I get rejected or worry im being stupid by applying over and over again to the same company. Literally does not serve me to waste another second thought on that. What I spend time on is applying, iterating on my resume, and growing skills. What people think about me personally when I’m not even being considered really yet is irrelevant. If they don’t want people like me to keep trying or to contact them (i only message once and they’re the ones with the hiring badge on LinkedIn) they can easily change how they do hiring to limit noise.
Completely normal and I take time at the end of day to acknowledge and reply to them. These people are looking for a new job, not begging. Change your attitude dude.
It's annoying because its always people who aren't qualified at all, at least for me.
I will always help someone when they ask for guidance or want to connect. If a person flat out asks for a job and I don't know them I just ignore them. If the person takes the time and effort to connect and not ask for a job, it is more likely I will help them find a job.
It’s very annoying when people reach out about jobs that I have nothing to do with. My profile clearly outlines the area that I work in, yet people reach out about completely different departments. Also, all interns are annoying lol. But that’s because a minimum of 50 reach out to me every week.
I usually assume that if you reach out its because you’re not qualified enough to get it on merit alone.
