I have an offer from Asana for an L5 SWE Base 215k (no bonus) RSUs 800k/4yrs I’m not really sure of the company’s current valuation, so it’s difficult to value the RSUs. If my math is right it seems like the offer is valuing the company a bit over 5B. Does that seem right? In general how does the offer look, any room for negotiation? Current TC ~400k 10 YOE Update: I decided to join FB. My offer was 205k base, 700k equity, 50k sign on.
i thought the company valuation is 1.6B. isn’t it ?
They were valued at 1.5B in Nov 2018. Not sure what they would be valued at today
why do you think the offer is valuing the company at 5B then?
The RSUs are worth $0 until the company is bought or IPOs. Do not value them as anything else.
In general I think that’s a good mentality to have when joining a private company, but disagree that they shouldn’t be valued at all. There other means of liquidation: tender offer, secondary market.
This is horrid advice
Op - did you end up taking the offer? If not, where to?
Haven’t decided yet. Will update the post once I’ve made a decision
May I ask what’s your concern?
How long do they take to respond with the decision after the onsite interviews?
1 day
Yes, E5 SWE at fb
This is the OP - just joined blind with my fb email. I don’t have access to my old blind account anymore :(
What was your final Facebook offer ?
First offer: 200k base 600k rsu and 50k sign on Final offer: 205k base, 700k rsu and 50k sign on.
@kenem how do you feel now that the asana offer is easily 600k/y?
The stock is lower than the grant price so TC at asana would be lower: 375k My current TC at fb is 450k
Lol, good stuff op
Lol you missed out on 1.6 million
Lol I also had an offer from coinbase with 23k shares. Missed out on 5M haha
How do you feel / cope with this?
Lol necroing this to laugh at OP. Also Asana recruiter reached out to me, is it too late to join?

I just got hit up by an Asana recruiter. How was the interview process there?
It was good, pretty standard tech interview but have more of a focus on collaboration. Phone screen - 1 coding question and 1 design question Virtual onsite - 1 behavioral, 2 design + coding, 1 coding a small project (2 hours)
