Asking for GC on day 1- negotiation

Considering a new offer from a tech company that does tons of h1bs and GCs and doesn’t have strict policies around it. While discussing offer, I asked if there’s a way to put in the offer letter and they said I don’t need to be worried as the immigration lawyer will take care of it as soon as it’s needed. They said we hire folks in 6th year with only few months left and it’s very common for us to take care of it. What should I do in this case? I’m interested in taking this offer but at 4.5/4.75 years on h1b, so worried about getting an I-140. Please advice. Should I take their word or negotiate on having it down on the offer letter? It’s a stable company. Thanks

For Google - take them at their word. They’re really good about it.

Negotiate- very very hard. Don’t take their word, worse case scenario affects you much more than anyone else. I had the same situation and brought it down from a year to six months. I got my approval literally 72 hours before my six th year expired. Don’t budge on this and don’t take their word- any kind of administrative delay or rule change is an uncontrollable variable and can never be ruled out.

Make sure they don’t lay off people frequently else that will delay the entire process. Ask how often and when did they file for labor verification for green card

They don’t and the company is doing well.
