Hello Blind community, I will need your inputs based on your experiences to assess if I am underpaid at my current role. I work in an engineering role in an automotive supplier (manufacturer) in Greenville, SC. My pay is 70k with no other pay benefits. I have more than 3.5 years of professional experience in the US in similar roles (Industrial, Manufacturing Engineer) and I also have a graduate degree. I want to hear from my folks in SC, southeast and rest of US. Appreciate your time, inputs and support! Stay Safe Y'all. #automotive #pay #wage #southcarolina #manufacturing #qualityengineer #manufacturingengineer #projectmanager #projectengineer #launchqualityengineer.
I have friends working in Low COL with Mechanical / Industrial Engineering degree. I think you're definitely under paid by about 15k. I have seen people starting around 65k, and then jump to Bigger Companies such as auto manufacturers, oil companies, etc. For 85-90k after couple of years.

I don’t know about your role and market and all but it’s really low. My very first software engineering internship when I was a freshman paid more and provided me with free housing, transportation, etc.
Was your very first internship as a freshman in SC? Low is relative. A 100k salary in the Bay Area might mean you live on rice and beans but in much of the country you live like a upper middle class king. Send your kids to charter school and eventually own a 2500SQft home with a backyard and a front yard.
100k salary + paid for housing and food at the office is not living on rice and beans. All your income is disposable.
