Expecting an offer for a startup with similar hierarchy as pharma. Was wondering what the TC (YOE 10) range would be for an AD in pharma for Comp Bio, Bioinformatics or even Data science would be helpful.#health #healthcare #datascience #pharma
I think the 200k mentioned here would be Base im assuming. I agree TC would be quite low.
OP did you accept the offer?
With the right company I think base should at least be $250k
@OP is this offer from Grail ?
200 base + 200-500k in options at the current FMV. And you should have a path to 5-10x.
Wowww if we take the midpoint for options it is 450k for an AD….. that’s decent
Wait I am sorry options over 4 years would make it in the ~300s
A biotech/pharma adjacent data point: I've seen TCs of 200-280k for places like Genentech, recursion, gingko. Stocks are on the lowish side always on biotech compared to tech, but base can reach parity
Check out h1bdata for base salary information either at that company or those similar
Is the consensus that h1b pay is the same or below non-h1b pay?
Depends, those are factual starting base salaries for foreign employees in that position. I know for a certain level at my company there is a position with h1b base ranges from $83-94k but the guy who came in at $83k quickly got a raise to $90k that is not reported on the site. The range for that band is likely $80-100k as seen on a posting in CO. Whatever range you find on H1B, you can usually ask for a little bit more plus bonuses, RSUs, etc up to 50-60% for directors
Large pharma - Likely 250-300 TC with a heavy cash component. You could clear 200-225 base + 20% bonus + a tiny amount in equity
Far from truth sadly
@OP try negotiate higher title since you will be joining start up from Genmab. Typically you should ask for Director level. In many starts ups, pay and stock compensation paid by level. (Stick grant are decide by board for director level)
200 if you’re in Bay Area
Thanks! Im in the Cambridge Boston area though. Maybe not too much of a difference?
Would that be so low after 9 more YoE for me?:( with PhD?!
