Be like Scott. https://fortune.com/2023/08/29/atlassian-ceo-scott-farquhar-office-once-a-quarter-remote-work/ TC: 270k
I wish I was an software CEO with $12 billion. I guess fortune can’t afford spellcheckers
Good one bruh..
Poor soul, he will be fired by board soon
Not when he has majority voting rights
Scott and mcb have majority, they can do whatever the fuck they want lmao
This post won't age well as it did for other companies of its ilk.
Our CEOs aren’t perfect and we’ve definitely seen a (significant) cultural shift over the last year, but despite that Atlassian is still a great place to work compared to a lot of my former big tech roles. And it’s refreshing how committed we are to permanent WFH (contrasted with smooth brained CEOs like Zoom).
Any entry level roles at Altassian? 🥺 👉👈
Great. Now to clean up the toxic culture at Atlassian and commit to making remote work a permanent offering for all tech workers. The office shouldn’t be a thing at all, and I’ll never go back to the office for as long as I can. TC: 105K
Clarifying that Atlassian is not anti-office, but rather remote-first. There are people who live near an office and would prefer working out of one (e.g. those who prefer the in-person social interactions, office perks, or don’t have a suitable space for working at home). The important distinction is that it is up to the individual employee to decide if they want to remote, go into office, or hybrid. There is no RTO mandate.
Exactly. Every company should be remote-first, or have it as a permanent option. If people want to go into the office, then they can do so. However, the issue lies in forcing every employee to come back to the office just to save some money.
Andy wont like Scott for sure.
Ridiculous argument. Atlassian staff used whiteboards and post it notes 13 years ago, therefore Jira is a sham and remote work is a marketing gimmick? Guess what, we still have whiteboards and post-it notes, but we also use our own products now as we did then. They’re all just tools at the end of the day, and as the time changes, people adapt in how they use them. 13 years is an eternity in this industry. Slack wasn’t a thing and Zoom/VC at the scale we are using it today didn’t exist. Pandemic wasn’t yet here to shift the way people work. If you’re still working the same way you did 13 years ago, while everyone has moved on, maybe that’s why you sound bitter.
Damn bro you got absolutely owned and ratioed. You are a loser.
