Currently recent staff at LinkedIn and interviewing outside. Will update compensation from all companies once I have it. Help me make a choice. Current is around 315K and expected TC is 400K.
Offer details?
Will share as I have it, told all recruiter my current salary and expected to avoid waste of time. Haven't got final offers as yet, however looks like will get most of them. Final rounds are going on.
What sort of culture are you seeking? I strongly encourage Salesforce, though it’s not free of frustrations.
I am looking for WLB like LinkedIn and some decent work. I am keen to jump as I think my salary is low here. I don't have too good relation with my manager as well. Manager in LinkedIn is same level as staff
It’s not that rare to have ics on the same level or higher than their manager
LinkedIn staff maps to L5a, so it’s a move up.
Yoe?
How far from senior staff @ LI?
Your TC at staff at LinkedIn is 315k?? That’s awfully low for staff.
How are refreshers at LI? Like G, does everyone get some amount of refresher every cycle?
No
I'd expect Atlassian P6 (Principal) to be closer to 350k than 400k unless our equity awards have gotten better recently If you aren't too unhappy with the TC, from what I know of the cultures, tech, and finances; * Uber is a hard pass (bad culture, long term loser business model) * Oracle depends on the team; if its OCI or another interesting growth area could be good but a lot of that company is dead end * Salesforce could be OK. Like Atlassian, probably a step down in tech and scale from LI, but by reputation they pay well and aren't too bad for WLB * Atlassian is going to be a step down in tech and scale from LI; the culture and WLB are exceptionally good and there are few enough Principals in the Bay Area locations that you can have a lot of impact on your products if that's of interest. I'd look at the Atlassian and Salesforce offers (and Oracle only if it is an interesting, high profile team) and decide based on how much you want to focus on the tech vs. culture/wlb of it. Good other offers should let you push the Atlassian offers and if it's competitive I think this is a great place. It's all speculation until you have actual offers with numbers attacned
Wow, good to see people recommending Uber after all the issues.
I wouldn’t choose atlassian and salesforce
Is it brand value or work or salary potential ?
Both I’d imagine but what matters most is what you want to work on
