Have two offers Att: 145k + 10% bonus in Dallas Autodesk: 135k + 10% bonus + RSU 55k/3 years in Portland, OR. Both positions are Senior software engineer Which one is better option. ##tech
What level for autodesk?
It is software engineer
You should ask for the grade.
Keep interviewing if you can. If not I'd go to Autodesk
You want to work in software, not telecom Autodesk
Autodesk easy
Don't come to att
Why is that?
Clueless leadership, bad engg culture, 🥜TC and bumps
You can push for more RSU, 10-25k at max. Use the topic that you are going to miss next year appraisal cycle in April and so you can miss refreshers too
Thank you. I will try that.
Trying is good, don't push it. If you didn't nail it, are on the border line and if there are other close candidates in the pipeline, pushing too hard may make manager to rescind the offer.
Definitely Autodesk if you want to choose between the two. It’s really chill out here with decent pay. If you want your personal life to be great this is the place to be. Will also get your foot in the door for tech companies. Of course other tech companies pay higher if you want to keep interviewing. The current offer is decent for Autodesk, but you could definitely negotiate for more. Depending on the grade you’ll have room for negotiation. I would try asking for base in the range 145-150 and RSU to be 30k/ year and see what they have to offer. Tell them that number would be a no brainer for you and you’ll ignore all the other offers if they can get close. Also definitely mention you want to make it work and are open to negotiations.
Thanks. I am trying to negotiate.
I would go with Att. Autodesk is a joke and your bonus is not guaranteed. Autodesk moves slow and you will just pigeon hole yourself.
Att is trash. Don't come
For senior level at att the bonus target is 11% not 10%
Is the bonus at AT&T guaranteed?
Bogus target? Last year we got 142% of target!
Portland > Dallas and higher tc
