If you are a hiring manager and a top candidiate is choosing between a competitor and your company, what techniques do you use to help sell your team and close the deal? Candidates, what have you experienced in the past that left a positive impression on you about a company when in the final stages of considering and accepting one of your offers?
I always go with whoever has the highest TC

Indirectly saying TC will be higher. Growth, stock price will double blah blah
Yes I agree, try to feed them this bullshit so they know to decline your offer
If u are saying how to attract talent without adding money to table. Sell them about project, as a manager make them feel special and important. Many times people choose manager over product. Try to understand what motivates them, growth? Cool stuff? Great peers? Value addition to resume by working on X?
Good points!
If I had an HM that just wanted to earnestly understand my motivations, I would be inclined to partner with them in my career (the point of a manager)
My proposition to the hiring managers is to pay up or shut up. You got to pay to play mfker!
I was in dilemma between a FAANG and a cool startup. The cash difference was over nearly 90k and there was bunch of paper money. The recruiter in startup tried really really hard and I was super close to accepting the startup offer but in the end I didn't. What I liked about her was her willingness to go extra mile and explain growth potential and answer all my questions honestly and connecting on personal level. In the end TC mattered very little to me and it was more of a coin toss despite the huge pay gap. I chose FAANG name just to improve my resume. Still debating whether I should revert back.
TC, future TC, TC growth potential
