How’s capitalism going?
Hello, I just received a verbal information on the offer. Still clarifying to get the numbers breakdown. Any idea what is a good range (low, high end) these days? Also any idea of the culture at Audible? Anything around PIP quotas and stack ranking as it happens in Amazon? Blind Tax: ~500k (Not at Bloomberg right now) YOE: 13
L6 salary band is like 350-480ish. NYC and SF are higher though.
Recruiter told me L6 band is 350ish in Seattle. 400ish in SF. Is it deflated recently or recruiter just wanted to be frugal?
Maybe Recruiter is just being frugal. Maybe they want pretty strong counters. I was told very similar numbers. FYI. In the process of negotiating.
L6 band is 348 - 481 K a year.
Do you know what the breakdown is like?
Yea DM for any questions
Audible L6 may not cross 500. Culture is a lot better than Amazon though. PIP has increased lately, but still it is not close to Amazon. WLB is good. After work hours your time is generally yours. Environment is political and you may not find as many interesting problems to work upon.
You mentioned about the env being political? That's something that I want to avoid lol. Does this mean there are teams with not so clear charter?
It’s political at L6 and above. I just do not know if it is normal at that level at any company. Read Blind and Glassdoor reviews to get better pulse.
Good to know. Thank you. How is it from a stability from business standpoint? Is it a solid business and does the leadership have enough clarity in terms of the path to growth? Especially with competitors emerging?
Rt now it is one of the most profitable orgs of Amazon and no competitor has this much market share or popularity (including Spotify).
I have a slightly different point of view. I think they are not doing enough and are losing market share (memberbase has been stagnant for a while now while Spotify is increasing dominance esp in international markets). Yes they do optimize for profits over growth which is why they have been able to survive for so long but this inherently brings a lack of long term thinking and vision to the org in general. It is a good place to join but would recommend switching to other amazon orgs once you're learning has plateaued. All the best!
Did you get numbers yet OP? Congrats!
Yes Pip and stack rank exactly like Amazon. All the best!
Definitely not ‘exactly’. Just worse than before in Audible itself.
Hi op, congratulations. Can I dm? I have interview coming up for same level
Same PIP policies as Amazon. You are better off going somewhere else
Same pip policies ans quota
Hw much is new offer ?
