Has anyone here got an aupair from india? We have a baby on the way and trying to get someone for a yr to stay with us and help out. Looked at getting a nanny but they seem to be super expensive in the long run. Thoughts welcome!
Wouldn’t you have visa issues for your aupair?
One of my colleagues did. She published an ad in Gujarat Times, interviewed a few candidates, and brought someone in whose family/distant relation someone already had a green card. My colleague paid for all the travel, visa processing etc. The aupair cooks, cleans, sends the kids to school etc. She stays in the house obviously and is paid ~$350/week in NJ, which is significantly cheaper than a nanny. Plus she does more work than a nanny. That's pretty much all the info I have but if you have any specific questions, I can check with my colleague.
Some one should report this.
yah seriously, this is normally regulated by the state department and aupairs also have tuition paid for by the host family. this sounds like slave labor instead
It will be extremely hard for you to get an exchange visa for aupair from India. This is why you will see there’s isn’t even one well known agency doing it India else all the consultancy companies would have jumped into this field hahah
