North Austin.
Like Austin proper? Any particular neighborhoods?
Stay around Austin ISD, I like the domain area or west of 183 highway.
You will pretty much find houses in every direction of Austin within 800k. Is your criteria .. 4-5 room new SFH with a large yard or 2-3 room small old SFH?
4+ rooms 3+ baths probably 1980 or newer. Don’t care about yard
Round Rock, Leander, Cedar Park
Imo these are very suburban, more conservative and less "Austin"
They are suburban and conservative yes, but that also means clean, safe, and nice. No homeless people everywhere and still a ton of amazing local food. Larger houses too.
“Close to tech companies.” The vast majority of tech companies are in the Arboretum/Domain area. Also obviously a big footprint downtown as well, and to a lesser extent on the Far East side near the airport. Less than $800k near any of those? Good luck If you do find some, the inventory is so low below $800 in that area, they get snatched up fast. I agree with comments above: Cedar Park, Round Rock, Leander, Liberty Hill… Then if you are good with a little drive, I’d add Manchaca, Buda & Kyle.
Thanks for the detailed response boss
And Pflugerville and Georgetown.
Drive to Arboretum/Domain is probably best from Cedar Park/Round Rock area
So many Austin posts
"central Austin" (aka, between UT and 183, neighborhoods like Hyde Park, North Loop, Rosedale, Brentwood, Crestview) is nice because it's quite accessible to both downtown and the domain. McCallum HS is decent and getting better every year. Much more urban and lively than the north Austin suburbia. Prices aren't cheap however.
This guy gets it. ^ I live here and am really happy. I got a yard for my puppy. Otherwise I would have gone condo downtown.
Tech companies are concentrated within a few miles of the domain (search for domain drive on maps), and another cluster is downtown. You can live between the domain and downtown in core Austin areas like Allandale, Mueller etc. Or you can find something closer to far Northwest Austin, or suburbs like Cedar Park, Round Rock, Pflugerville. With that budget and your requirements you should be able to find a house pretty much anywhere. DM me if you need specific advice or want to discuss.
Tech companies are in all 4 corners of Austin. Which company do you want to be close to? Going from North to South will be nightmare everyday. 800k is avg price for a good house these days
There not all north? What are the hubs?
Lol no. Tesla is south east. Some semis south west. Dell is north east. Apple, visa etc north west
