Sad how Autodesk is losing steam culturally as a company in recent years for a company that makes impactful software and products. Career plateau is breeding toxic workers and a hostile environment like a lake with brain eating amoeba. Good Talent fleeing in truckloads like it is end of the world, leaving the leeches to squalor. Upper Management keeps the status quo. Every Talented Individual Contributor underpaid and rejected numerous of times for raises, with HR cases shoved under the rug to a point it is a Human Rights Violation where even office people are paid below retail worker at McDonalds!

This is roughly true, but I’ve also seen kids with 3-4 YOE who are principal engineers. Also, WLB is unbeatable. So many people sitting on their hands taking 3 weeks of PTO, that’s not even their sabbatical (6 weeks every 4 years). It sucks for the 10% of people who actually want to make an impact (working 50-60 hr weeks), before they become jaded and start sitting on their hands too. Extremely comfortable and politically astute lifers (people who’ve been here 10, 20 years) are the root of rot. They make every resourcing/promotion/bonus pool decision based on tenure of the manager. Lack of career progression stems from this, because these lifers don’t retire...they just keep climbing. RIP a great company that used to make meaningful software
