What is a competitive base salary in Texas for a Senior Functional Safety Engineer. I have a masters degree With 4 years of Exp. I was offered the max of the salary range that was listed out (in the 140’s range). Would this be considered competitive? TOE :4 yrs ##tech #automotive #ev #autonomous
Seriously don’t bother with a career in safety, companies don’t value it at all.
That is true , its a cultural challenge and currently companies are starting to understand, and slowly implement functional safety into the work products
It’s not a thing that’s going to change. Safety doesn’t improve profits, it’s something that must be done from a regulatory standpoint. As long as it’s done whatever. There are no safety rockstars, good enough is fine.
None of the AV companies give a shitt about Operational or Functional Safety.
Surprised to hear this. At least one does.
If you’re talking about the big AV start ups on there, they do give a shit about functional safety. And the companies that are partnering with them do as well, because when it comes to liability, nobody would want to deploy a vehicle that is autonomous ready, but not safe
You are asking the wrong crowd I guess. Are you an electrical engineer? Do you have 26262 certifications? Do you have hardware and software knowledge? California companies pays higher than Texas. You can send your resume to me.
i will be certified in ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 soon (I am trained at this point) I have a good understanding of hardware and software. i do know CA companies pay more than the ones in texas, but my role is remote and the company is based of CA .
