I will no longer buy products on ebay. I chatted with an ebay agent earlier who told me they had a 90 days ebay money back policy. I ended up buying two products netting 2,000 USD and go on vacation. I come back within 70-80 days and both were faulty and missing pieces/had replaced non OEM parts. I cannot even resell these products because of how terrible they are. when I go back to ebay they then claim it was only a 30 day return policy and I can do nothing to recover my money. The sellers also refused to refund their scam products. The funny thing is I have actual proof of an ebay representative telling me it was a 90 days policy. A representative from Ebay service leadership recognized this mishap but refused to do anything. Safe to say I will never be using ebay again. In the past I have been very forgiving with exceptions on expensive products. In fact, I have poured thousands of dollars ($54,455 to be precise) into ebay. However, ebay seems to have very cheap representatives who do not care (even if given your pricey track record). Posting here because I do not see better place to post. Update: Couldn't do anything significant ebay has a half treating customer service. Spending thousands of dollars, still ebay doesn't care about customer loyalty like amazon. I couldn't get a proper refund for expenses worth just 3-4% of total purchases I made ($2,000 refund cost/$55,000 purchases). #ebay #avoid
What does your order receipt say about return policy? If it says 90 days, eBay will honour it. eBay customer service is actually pretty good. You seem to have a unique situation where your return policy was communicated by ebay rep instead of referring to purchase invoice. Moreover, it took you 70-80 days to get back to them. Something doesn’t smell right.
Took within 90 days because I was out of home in another continent for vacation. Figured I would check when I came back after ebay rep told me 90 days was fine.
But what did your purchase policy say on the invoice? Or did the ebay rep send you an email confirming they made an exception to your return policy?
Ebay is a Chinese Thrift store
Call your credit card and open transaction disputes. It’ll take some back and fourth, but your CC will take care of you and refund your money. Never accept being screwed.
Just know your rights for fraud protection and make sure to not cross any lines. Also if a deal is too good to be true, it most certainly is. I have bought hundreds of items on eBay, had issues maybe twice, and they refunded, no problem. All in all, great site but you have to at least slightly use your brain.
I am pretty sure OP is convoluting facts here and has no legitimate claims.
not convoluting anything but you are free to believe that :(
OP is telling the truth. No one spends time writing a post like this for fun.
Credit card purchase protection…. if you paid eBay with a credit card then use the purchase protection. If you paid thousands without this then….. why.
Probably used PayPal which is another pain in the butt
Had a similar experience. Bought am electronic turns out it was fake. Because it was used a skincare device, eBay refused to help me since they said I used it. I wouldn't have known it was fake if I didn't. Anyways Amex saved the day, now big purchases I only use Amazon. Occasionally hard to find stuff only on eBay.

Didn't know people are still using this trash site.
it's good for collectibles. but I will use amazon and forget about them. Even Amazon has superior customer support.
I learned today that it was trash thank you.
