Amazon/AWS transition from Tech role to sales 80/20 split

Hi folks, Looking do an internal transfer from a tech role to sales in AWS. Been told that year 1 is only 80/20 and not 60/40. Just wondering if anyone challenged this to get 60/40 in year 1? Any tips? Thanks.

80% of your target comp is base, 20% is commission

70/30 or 60/40. I've never heard of 80/20.

It's 80/20 just for just the first year, reverts back to 60/40 in year 2.

Never heard of this one. I rotated into a sales role and it was never 80/20

You should go sell used cars then. We focus on helping the customer not what's going to maximize commission. It's why customers love us vs. old guard shrink wrap selling mentality.
