Awkward 2 weeks
Gave 2 weeks notice to leave Amazon. I thought the hard part would be the announcement but it’s actually the notice period. Feels like a looooooong time. Literally counting days! People are acting weird around me and some won’t even bring it up even though I know they know. Certain people are ignoring me and not making eye contact (I work in office). Some also are not responding to slacks. Also work has been gradually shifting to my replacement and it feels weird to be out of the loop. I don’t want to be a d—k and just leave before end of notice. Trying to plug along but it’s weird. What have you done to pass the time in your notice period? Tc - 250k

Dude(tte), just chill. They’re probably envious or just want to move on. Losing a team member with no immediate replacement means more work for them, so perhaps bitterness from that. But you shouldn’t care at this point.
Maybe it’s part Stockholm syndrome, feeing guilty, FOMO
The notice period (2 week) is a great time to ensure you build solid bridges before leaving or take it slow. You’re literally getting paid to do f**k all. Reach out to connections in the org who you care about, refine some documentation you’re the SME on, or simply just coast till your last day.
