Got two offers. AWS and Walmart AWS Applied for L6 but offer is for L5 Offer: 245K (details yet to come) Walmart Offer: 298k (182 base + 80k RSU + 36000) Also mentions 95k new hire RSU (not sure how it's calculated) Current TC: 171k + ~11k annual bonus YOE: ~10 AWS work seem more interesting. Any suggestions would be more than helpful. Both bay area
If you already have a better offer, why don't you leverage that and let AWS know? They can definitely bump up the compensation.
Yes that's what I am planning to do. Wondering if the band for L5 will allow them to bump it up to match.
Have you had at least one round of negotiation with AWS?
Sure
$245k is already very competitive for L5, which I believe is mid-level.
I applied for the senior role but got down levelled. Still not sure if this is a good choice specially considering the future
With your YOE you should be senior. I wouldn’t take L5 because you may end up getting your raises capped if you don’t get promoted and your at the top of your pay band.
245 for Bay Area is ok. I’d shoot for 300 now it’s said to be paying external hires more.
