Looks like Microsoft killed it today with the earnings report. Largely driving the gains was a 21% year-over-year in operating income in its intelligent cloud segment including much of Microsoft’s current AI offerings. Similar story with GCP with Sundar mentioning “70% of AI unicorns running on GCP”. Is AWS fading into darkness in the GenAI race. Feels truly like day 2. We have nothing other than false promises and vaporware i.e., Bedrock TC: 360 🥜🥜 now
Still a bit early, I feel Msft has been low-key in this AI game and is generally more pessimistic about economic outlook if you listened into the call. The question is whether that pessimism would actually result in underinvestment on Msft part.
🤔
Intelligent Cloud has always been just Cloud. I used to work at Azure when it was Cloud and AI. That revenue growth is NOT due to GPT crap
Well Azure apparently has 2500 OpenAI service customers, a 10x bump from the previous quarter, all big names - coursera, grammarly, Mercedes and more.
When a product is new the percentage wise growth can be 100x and still not significant enough to make a difference
