Suggestion ? Existing Leaf owners can chime in too ?
Don't buy any kind of electric car, not right now. It makes way more sense to lease any kind of electric car
Leasing is always a terrible option unless you love to throw away your money
Nope. Do your research and you'll see that it's generally better to lease an electric due to have federal incentives rolled into the price of the lease and higher depreciation over ICE (internal combustion engine) cars. Usually leasing an ICE car greatly favors the dealer (kinda obvious I guess lol) but sometimes there's very good deals
Oh god. Where's the "only an idiot would invest in this car" option?
Damn it, you should have told me earlier before i created the post. Now i cant edit the poll anymore :(
Why not an economic car?
Cast pool lane access? Free charging at a lot of companies?
Buy Honda Civic instead. Maybe Honda Fit. Buy or lease Leaf only if there is some extremely special benefit that you really need for it, i.e. Access to carpool for a single driver.
Carpool lane can be huge + if you can charge at work, it's like getting free gas.
if you do the math, the gas savings aren't worth the price point. I've had my civic for 200,000 miles and it cost me 20k in gas so far. The civic was 17k at the time. Planet earth thanks you though
Missing neither option
Lease. The Leaf must have the worst resale value ever. Nissan Burien makes a good offer for MSFT employee (2k down + $100 a month for 2 years). $100 is basically what I spend on gas monthly.
You paying cash or getting a loan? How much is it used vs. new? What is the lifetime of the batteries?
Loan on used, probably like 8k for 3yrs old leaf. The other option is not buying new leaf, but leasing new leaf, probably like 2k downpayment and 250/month for 3yrs ? Battery life unsure, hence i asked leaf owners to chime in
