Advice about adjusting to large corporate culture

I recently started as Senior SWE from a lead at a late-stage startup. I am on a project with about 20 Indian contractors on my team, and I am reviewing the deadlines for the next 4 months. I feel like I could do all of the stories by myself in less than 1 month. Why is a 20 person team assigned to it over 4 months? Does the government subsidize this structure? Over time, will my coding abilities start to deteriorate? Over time, will my faith in humanity decrease? Are there any common anecdotes or advice that will help me adjust? Thank you! #engineering #software #swe #bigcommerce #tech #techcareer

1. Someone is getting kick backs from that contract. So unless you know exactly who, keep your mouth shut 2. Depending on what company is contracted , you will have more work than your bargained for -some of them are notorious for fucking up the very basics, so don’t get too happy yet, you will most likely end up redoing everything 3. Get ready for endless sync ups that lead to nowhere
