Boeing - IC4 to IC5

Have been offered an IC4 position at Boeing.I feel I'm more of an IC5 How is the progression like at the company? How long does it take to move up from IC4 to IC5? YoE: 7 TC: 212k #pm #product #productmanager

IC5 is pretty much the senior most IC position most get at Boeing unless they're a tech fellow, in which case there's a few IC6s (i.e. the max level). With 7yoe, you're scraping the minimum yoe for an IC4, so I'd say that's pretty normal. In line promotions usually take quite a while but if you jump to another team in like 4-5 years, it might be possible to go up to IC5

IC5 is almost impossible unless you have a competing offer, imo

Agree. But OP may be in a team with a bunch of young people. IC5 can be 15 to 25 yrs plus. I knew some people in certain sites get IC5 at 15 yrs or less. White male.
