I received an offer which I accepted a couple of weeks ago and have already submitted my documents for the H-1B transfer to the attorney. However, for the past 4-5 days, I have sent three emails to HR with some questions regarding the joining date and haven't received any response. Given the recent wave of layoffs, should I be concerned that my offer is being rescinded? How does HR typically inform candidates if their offer has been withdrawn? If you're currently in the process of joining Amazon or have had your offer rescinded in the past, could you share your experiences?
No! Is it AWS?
Relax my friend… it will be all right
I'd be surprised if any of the orgs doing layoffs had open head count to make an offer a few weeks ago. HC freeze and not opening job reqs happens ahead of the layoff in most cases. My guess is that the org you are joining would have been safe from layoffs. But on the other hand, its Amazon so who the f**k knows what they'll do. So 🤷
Takes me 3 weeks to get my recruiter to schedule interviews for my candidates 😐 you’re fine
Which level are you in ? L6 and above - you are safe
It's possible but it more likely they are on vacation.
Thanks. Fingers crossed
+1 it's spring break. Kids are home and people are planning vacations with kids or extended families. It's likely that the hiring manager or the HR is on leave.
