Booz Allen

I am in mid career and in 40s, with lots of personal life change recently including divorce 2 years back. Currently at amazon for little over a year, on medical leave due to a shitty manager, otherwise I think I would have been doing well and planned to stick around. I lack motivation for career growth and want to be in a company with good people. I think I am fine to take some pay cut if work environment isn’t toxic. Started talking to Booz Allen, role won’t pay as much as I make now. Does anyone have insight into the company? Also, anyone faced similar issue mid career and life, it’s tough to make a decision. If you don’t have anything to share, please don’t troll🙏

Booz Allen was a great company pre IPO After they went public I left. I don’t know the current status today, but BAH was going through significant changes.

It's not Amazon, right? Well, then, that should be good enough.

DM me. If you want to give me the R# of the job you applied for I can look up details on your food chain.

Its low stress. Mediocre pay. Not there anymore, i was on the federal side. Was great to get my career started tho. Associates (in charge of a few ppl) and sr associates pay ranges anywhere from 120k to 200k (if ur technical). Dont have much insight higher than that. I know you have to start bringing in money at that point through proposal work. Few IC type positions. free to dm me.

Classic BAH was a very old firm with very old values and very old ways of working. I'm talking, engineers wear slacks and a sports coat, women wear jacket and skirts, old. Back in 2008 the commercial and defense divisions of the company split, with the commercial arm quickly being bought and renamed. The defense defense diiv went IPO in 2010 and the company culture began going through lots of changes, further driven by acquisitions of other defense companies and a further internal split between certain organizational divisions across customer bases. BAH has ties to a LOT of big names in government and political circles. Although they have adjusted to the times, don't expect the firm to be at the forefront of social-workplace changes. If you know how to be a "company man" you can do well and be very secure. If you value a more progressive workplace and WLB like that provided by many West Coast companies, you may want to look elsewhere.

BAH culture is extremely conservative. If you aren't a white male from a military family, you will not be paid what you deserve and you will always be at risk of Silent Layoffs. My spouse used to work at BAH and it was appalling how poorly they treated her. My job is cushy and I'm paid well, but I come from a well known family.

What sector are you aligned to because this is not my experience at all? It’s quite the opposite.
