Are you supposed to disclose about your involuntary termination from the previous job during background check process with a new employer?
Most of the time they just want to confirm you worked there when you said you did. Most companies will disclose what they’re going to ask so you can get them to the right contact.
Just put do not contact employer and provide pay stubs instead.
Background check is a quantitative process and not a qualitative process. Most of the time it's outsourced to third parties.
Most companies will only verify the dates you worked there and your title when you left. But beware. The tech industry is smaller than you think and people talk. Even though 3rd parties do background checks, I’ve had many calls and emails asking about colleagues habits, work ethic and overall skills. I tell strangers to pack sand but if I get a call from someone I know well, I do give honest and candid answers.
I agree with dudettee. Background check should not be the problem. Blind reference checks (not reference check on Bljnd mind you) are the ones you need to worry about. Although blind reference checks happen more for very senior level positions.

If they ask, its always best to be honest and phrase it in a way that shows that (if for fault) you have learned from the experience and grown etc.
